In 2001, diane estelle, at the suggestion of her husband, music mixer Tommy Vicari, was invited to capture on camera an "historical recording" at Capitol Records in Hollywood, CA.  The artist, composer and arranger was Sammy Nestico.

For seven years, this 70 years young musician began saving his money to fulfill his lifetime dream, to self-produce and record his own “big band” album.  As Sammy stepped up to the podium, he transformed from his captivating yet unassuming demeanor to a powerful force to be reckoned with.  Hollywood’s finest performers competed for the chairs, hoping to join Sammy in “making history.”  In the few days that followed, magic became tangible and a new journey began.  With Sammy as the leader of the band, in rhythm with his commitment and belief in Self, diane estelle began documenting the next two decades of his life.  Today, at 92 years young, we are reminded daily that time is of the essence to bring SHADOW MAN, The Sammy Nestico story to fruition.
