Sammy realized his last unfulfilled childhood dream when he took up painting later in his life.  He loved painting and always spoke of notes andcolors in the same breath.  For a short window of nearly three years, he read and studied and applied himself in the same way as if he was composing a chart.  In that short time, he created an impressive body of works for someone who had only painted as a child.
